I have been a paintballier for over 15 years, part time paintball referee for 11 years, and community organizer and marketing assistant for the past six years.
I grew up in the Yolo county countryside, and went to schools in Davis, CA, including the new technology project based learning Da Vinci High School.
While trying to make my own major at Humboldt State University (‘14), which I deemed “psychology applied to political theory,” the program to make your own major got cancelled. This led me to get involved in university politics, and end up with a BA in Communication, and minors in Political Science and Religious Studies.
I became student body president and was involved with numerous activities on campus, including starting two different clubs, serving on a university police Lt. search committee, serving on several multi million dollar board of directors, writing the newsletter for a campus organization, competing on the debate team for three years, and leading various successful direct actions and p.r. stunts to combat the privatization of my university.
I have had three different internships at: an independent business alliance, where I interviewed community business leaders to assist our organization in a restructure, an internet based manufacturing and retail startup, helping with marketing and sales, and finally with a multi media marketing agency, working to refine their sales strategy and build a sales team.
My long term goal is to start a leadership retreat for really badass people, movers and shakers, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
My short term goal is to make a living using this blog as content marketing for my other endeavors, particularly my consulting firm, were you can find out more information about it at http://www.bloomprogressivemarketing.com/
